Translation Memory Systems
Compared to machine translations (MT), where a software translates texts automatically without human influence, these Translation Memory Systems are intelligent helpers for the translator. They memorize all sentences, which were translated, and suggest them again if the text to be translated recurs. If the text is not totally identical they also do this through so called "fuzzy matches."
The TMS manages terminology and displays the predetermined translation of fixed terms. This saves time and monex and furthermore - if it is done correctly - increase the quality and consistency of translations. Through the creation of a terminology database it is ensured, that the proper translation terms are used for the target language.
